It was so fun and entertaining watching people floating down the Deschutes River while shopping and dining in the Old Mill District in Bend, OR today!
This diagram shows that the greatest mass migration in North American history started in 1812 and ended around 1859. This journey taken by pioneers was almost 2000 miles long through rugged wilderness to chart a new destiny ending on the Pacific Slope. It was quite moving being reminded what the emigrants endured in crossing the US from Independence, Missouri to Oregon Country.
